Big Group Hug

Big Group Hug sent their van for another pick up yesterday and we filled a third of the van. It's a huge help when they pick up our donations as there's always too much for the car.

We sent 20 quilts,  34 large knitted/crocheted blankets,  8 pair of beautifully knitted socks for toddlers,  65 newborn beanies, 88 pair of newborn socks,  289 soap pouches,  72 knitted beanies,  124 drawstring bags,  6 burp cloths,  83 baby bibs, 26 library bags,  4 tote bags, 8 pencil cases,  4 knitted teddies,  14 knitted scarves,  27 teddy bears with their custom made jumpers,  24 soft toys, and boxes of hand knitted jumpers,  new track pants,  new socks and undies,  new clothes and pyjamas aswell as a box of baby wraps and handknits.

We also donated a box of 156 items from Uniforms 4 Kids Victoria, made by upcycling obsolete uniforms donated by Ambulance Victoria. There were2 quilts,  61 pencil cases with pencils,  4 nappy bags,  1 tote bag, 12 cute dresses,21 pair of shorts, 17 skirts, 9 bucket hats, 8 zippered pouches,  10 drawstring bags and 11 warm vests.

Many thanks for your generous support everyone.  There will be lots of happy children when they receive our donations.

There's also another major organisation which is joining U4KV so we can upcycle their obsolete uniforms and we would love to have more ladies who would enjoy sewing simple clothes,  tote bags, drawstring bags etc from the uniform fabric.

Hugs, Jan Mac xx
