The Benefits of Downsizing.

Fran Cox is downsizing prior to moving interstate and she has very kindly donated a tub containing 3 beautiful quilts and a quilt top which has been basted and ready for quilting.

Fran also donated a tub of fabulous fabric which will make some wonderful quilts to donate. I'm very grateful that Fran's need to downsize has meant that we have beautiful fabric to work with.

Lyn Smith from Queensland has sent another parcel containing 9 cuddly teddy bears and a UFO of stitcheries as blocks.

Thank you all so much for your ongoing support.

It's Nearly Christmas.

It's almost Christmas time and time for family gatherings while things are winding down for the organisations we support. I've been doing some sewing for the grandchildren and knitting for babies as one of my DD's close friends is pregnant with triplets. Knitting premmie garments is fairly quick but doing them for 3 will take a lot longer. Lol. I have also heard that a niece is having a baby soon so another quilt will be needed. We've enjoyed watching some televised cricket matches and it's a good opportunity to put my feet up and knit. We also had tickets to see the latest Avatar movie yesterday but I would have preferred to spend time on my sewing as it was very long at 3.5 hours, has a weak storyline and consisted of CGI non-stop. We enjoyed the first one but wouldn't go to the next one  and it looks like it has been set up for another movie.

More fabulous donations continue to arrive with a large parcel from Maria Wilson from WA containing 2 beautiful quilts and 4 lovely Santa Sacks.
Kaye Hardman has donated 3 cute teddies with vests she made for them and her lovely mother,  Billie,  has knitted another teddy bear and newborn's beanie for Life's Little Treasures.
Eleanor Vardanega from NSW has sent a large parcel containing 2 beautiful quilts,  12 drawstring bags and 9 bassinet sheets.

Lynn Barker from NSW has very generously sent another 2 large parcels containing lots of fabric, a beautifully crocheted blanket,  3 cloth bags, some lovely kits and some UFOs to finish off for more donations. Lynn has beautiful taste in fabric and it will be fun to finish off the UFOs to donate.

The quilt below is the second quilt made by Maria Wilson from WA.

Many thanks for your generous support everyone.

Finalizing Deliveries for 2022.

I haven't finished a lot of items this last week as I have been busy making Christmas outfits for the grandkids but I  did finish another baby's blanket for Life's Little Treasures and a baby jacket for Peter Mac's auxiliary shop.
I also quilted another donated top which went to Life's Little Treasures.
Yesterday was another big day of deliveries so we could get as many donations delivered as possible before the organisations close for the Christmas break.
Pam Neenan very kindly delivered our donations to Backpacks 4 Vic Kids and delivered 10 quilts,  1 crocheted blanket, 24 drawstring bags,  5 Santa Sacks, 4 large bags of soft toys, baby clothes, new hand knits,  and toiletries.
I delivered donations to Life's Little Treasures consisting of 6 quilts, 7 knitted blankets,  18 knitted teddies, 54 knitted beanies,  6 drawstring bags,  8 knitted jackets and 2 pair of booties.
Eastern Palliative Care had also contacted me to ask if it was possible to receive more quilts for Christmas so we also delivered 34 quilts and 4 crocheted blankets.
I'm still stockpiling large quilts for our flood quilt drive for Rochester and we will be delivering more there after Christmas.
Thank you all so much for your ongoing support.
