Happy 2nd Birthday Aidan.

Our precious grand son,  Aidan is 2 today and sadly we can't celebrate again this year because of Covid lockdown.  Hopefully we can get together to celebrate soon.
Little Aidan loves wearing hats, singing nursery rhymes, climbing everything, Jeeps, and endless time on the swings at the park. It's a joy to watch him as he grows and develops his cheeky personality and we're blessed to see him most days.

Hugs, Jan Mac

Many Thanks Audrey and Maxine.

A parcel of knitted garments arrived from Maxine Staley and her lovely mother,  Audrey, and they will be very welcome as our weather is getting colder now.  Audrey is 92 and she beautifully knitted these 5 lovely jumpers as well as the 5 beanies and there will be some kids feeling much warmer as a result.

Big Day of Donations - 91 Quilts.

Today was a big day of donating 91 quilts,  39 knitted/crocheted blankets and 18 boxes of  hand knitted garments for babies and children,  toys, knitted hats, scarves etc. I also included 16 of the rescued teddy bears and they loved them.

They've also said they're desperately short of drawstring bags measuring 16 x 20 inches to be used for children and adults escaping domestic violence situations.  So if you have time to make some that would be great.

I've knitted jumpers for 2 more rescued teddy bears and the miniature jumper was made in 3 ply and fine needles. So cute to knit.

So far this year we have donated 359 quilts and it's only been possible due to support from all of you. Many thanks everyone.

Many Thanks Pamela and The Childers Quilters from Queensland.

These fabulous 21 quilts were all donated by Pamela Tyrie and the Childers Quilters from Qld and Pamela and her DH then drove down to Victoria to deliver them. I was unable to meet with them as that was when I was sick so the fabulous Lily Lane patchwork shop at Rosedale, Victoria , very kindly stored them for me. A quilting friend then very kindly brought them back to Melbourne for me as she was travelling through the area. There are over 40 quilts so I will share more photos tomorrow.

Such a generous donation of fabulous quilts to bring comfort to people in need. Many thanks for your help ladies.

Hugs, Jan Mac

Busy Trying to Catch Up.

It's hard to believe that little Sophie is 4 weeks old already and she's just a delightful baby who sleeps well and hardly cries. I had to make the elephant without a pattern and would have done better with more time but it will have to do.
More donations have arrived from Kathie Williamson who sent 2 lovely Cabbage Patch dolls and 12 Barbie dolls which we will donate with new clothes for Christmas gifts for kids in care. If anyone likes to sew or knit doll's clothes they would be very welcome.
Anne Sushames of Anshabelle Quilting has very kindly quilted tops for us and she quilted the next 4. Mary-anne Goss from SA donated the first lovely top.
Lynn Pickersgill from NSW donated the lovely quilt top in grey and yellow.

Marg Coulthard (Vic) donated these lovely 10 teddy bears in their new jumpers.

Jean Harvey and Jo Calder donated the knitted squares to make more lovely blankets for children.  Jean is 92 and has loved knitting and sewing for most of her life.
Norma Aitken donated 6 cot blankets and a baby's sleeping bag.

Tracey Leonard sewed together the many donated heart blocks from Fran Williams and Jo Sharman from Tasmania.
Tracey also donated some hand knits and soft toys.

Lex Collins donated 3 lovely baby wraps and 2 beautifully knitted baby cardigans, as well as some soft toys.

Many thanks to everyone for their very generous donations.  I've been busy packing boxes and will delivering more quilts and blankets soon.
I also finished another QAYG quilt made from smaller blocks donated by Marie Lee and the Victorian Quilter's Association. I have a few blog posts to catch up with showing donations and finishes so hope to get them caught up this week.

Hugs, Jan Mac
