This Week's Wrap

The other 3 quilts were donated quilt tops.
I also finished off 3 knitted scarves for donation.
yesterday Vicki Anceschi drove across to pick up our donations for Big Group Hug. We gave 24 knitted/crocheted blankets, 70 large drawstring bags, 6 extra large drawstring bags, 28 teddies, boxes of handknits including jumpers, beanies and scarves, pencil cases with pencils and toiletries.
It looks like being another busy year and we still need to support our usual organisations as well as the Quilt Drive for the bushfire affected areas so we'll be busy quilting every moment we get. Many thanks to the very generous supporters who donated batting and money to buy batting. It's really appreciated.

Lots Of Arrivals to Start The New Year.
Theresa Gerrard has donated these 2 fabulous quilts as well as 3 lovely quilt tops and a large amount of batting.
Chris from Canberra sent a large parcel containing 5 beautiful quilt tops, a large piece of fabric for backings, some thread and a generous financial donation to pay for batting.
Maria Wilson from WA also made a very generous financial donation to pay for much needed batting.
Eileen Nash donated some bags of yarn to make blankets, beanies and handknits.
Kathie Williamson has sent another large parcel containing 12 lovely warm scarves.

Waverley Patchworkers donated 7 beautifully made blankets and 7 beautiful knitted teddy bears. These have gone to Castlemaine with 5 blankets, 5 teddies, a bag of crocheted squares and a big bag of QAYG blocks.
Susan Iacuone has generously offered to make quilts from donated QAYG blocks as well as creating blankets from knitted or crocheted squares. These will all be donated to bushfire affected communities along with quilts and handknits but it will be 3 or 4 months before people are in stable housing and therefore able to receive them. Susan has requested crocheted or knitted squares minutes 8 ply and measuring 8 inches (20 cm) square. If you have squares or blankets to donate please send them to Susan Iacuone, PO Box 901, Castlemaine, 3450. I will be accepting quilts and all other handmade items.
Many thanks everyone for your generous support and donations.
