We're collaborating with Waverley Patchworkers for our flood quilt drive for Rochester and Norma Aitken donated 30 fabulous quilts, 7 beautifully crocheted blankets and a basket of quilting goodies , all provided by Waverley Patchworkers. We provided 7 Oz Comfort Quilts and on Wednesday, Glenys Pearson very kindly delivered them to Lesley Lowe in Shepparton. We will be sending more quilts to them as soon as we have enough to warrant the trip, which should be in a few weeks time.
We also donated 10 quilts to Sandringham palliative care today.
Pam Neenan also very kindly drove a car load of our donations to Backpacks 4 Vic Kids today. We sent 20 quilts, 11 blankets, 130 Santa Sacks, 148 soap pouches, 110 drawstring bags, 50 beanies, 7 nappy bags, over 100 teddies and soft toys, 20 hand knitted baby jumpers, 13 jumpers for children, 10 burp cloths, several boxes of new clothes and undies, toiletries and baby wraps.
Many thanks Pam for your very generous donation of time to make the delivery for us and also a big thank you to Glenys and Lesley for their help with deliveries.
A very big thank you to Norma Aitken and Waverley Patchworkers for their assistance with supporting Rochester after the floods. The need for quilts there will be ongoing for some time as people are still living in temporary accommodation and will be for some time, which won't be easy throughout winter.
Thanks everyone for your generous donations and support.
Hugs, Jan Mac xx
