New Arrivals.

Our members continue to send in more fabulous donations and they will soon be on their way to the many organisations we support.

Lynell Jendra from Queensland has spent the past 2 years making an incredible amount of different items, knowing that she would be travelling down to Victoria to deliver them. She made 395 QAYG blocks, 113 pillowcases, 161 sanitary pouches, 352 soap pouches, 37 pencil cases, 5 cloth bags, 86 romper suits for babies/toddlers, 8 beautiful quilts, 17 library bags and 100 Santa Sacks. So many children are going to love your creations, Lynell. Xx

Jill Khong has donated 4 lovely quilts, 24 Santa Sacks, 13 soft toys with beautiful hand knitted jumpers, 1 knitted baby jacket, 1 baby beanie, 4 baby bibs, 5 new baby outfits, 2 books, as well as 1 baby blanket and 2 knitted jackets for Life's Little Treasures.

Thank you both so much for making and donating such wonderful donations to make life a little better for so many people. Xx

It's been a busy time with donations coming and going. 15 quilts were donated to the Alfred Hospital's Palliative Care Unit and 10 quilts, 24 knitted/crocheted blankets and 30 beanies with 25 pair of gloves were donated to Big Group Hug.

Donations also arrived with Ann Lynch donating 7 beautiful quilt tops, 20 drawstring bags and 3 Santa Sacks.

Sue McPhee donated several tubs of fabric, threads and UFOs and the 4th photo shows one of Sue's lovely hand pieced quilt tops of lozenge shapes. I have hand appliqued them to backing and will add some borders.

Vanessa Fairchild and the Grange Community Centre donated 18 beautifully crocheted/knitted blankets as well as 4 knitted headpieces.

Break O'Day Quilters from Tasmania donated 3 crocheted blankets and Carleen Richardson very kindly transported them when she was here for the SCQuilters retreat.

Quilt Drive For Victorian Flood Affected Areas.

Jennifer Moores donated another 2 lovely quilts and Dymphne Anderson stitched the binding for her.

Lots of fabulous quilts were donated by members of Southern Cross Quilters during the retreat.

Three beautifully hand knitted socks were donated by SCQuilters  too.

Pam Knight donated another 8 pair of beautifully knitted socks for toddlers. 

Mary Anne Rooney donated 8 large bags of teddy bears and our precious little granddaughter,  Sophie, was helping me to pack them into boxes, giving them a quick cuddle first. It will take me a few days to catch up as I'm busy sewing labels on quilts for a couple of organisations who have requested more quilts for their clients. It's lively having so many on hand to supply them as needed.

A Little Break.

I attended the Southern Cross Quilters retreat last weekend and had a lovely time seeing old friends and making new ones, with lots of chat and laughter. I took a class in Clamshell stitching and Veronique D. was an excellent tutor.

This fabulous red and white quilt was my favourite at Show and Tell and it shimmered.

I also finished 3 more donated quilt tops,  the first 2 were donated by Lesley Lowe and the Kyabram quilters. 

The last lovely quilt top was donated by Mary Anne Rooney.  I also received lots of lovely donations from members of SCQuilters and will post photos of them over the next few days.

As most of you are aware Northern Victoria is currently being devastated by severe flooding and the events continue to impact on communities along the Murray River.

We will be holding a quilt drive for these badly affected communities and will work with local quilting groups as many are very active in their local communities.  It will take some months before they are able to accept quilts so it gives us time to get larger quilts made which will be appropriate for most adults. Thankfully the weather is warmer now and we should have sufficient large quilts to distribute before next winter. In the meantime we will still be supporting our usual organizations for Palliative care services,  children in care, and victims of domestic violence.  

Many thanks for your ongoing support., as the need is greater than ever.

More Generous Members.

This beautiful quilt was donated by Sue from Trinity Patchworkers and it will soon be giving a warm hug to someone in need. 

Sue Taylor has donated another 3 beautifully crocheted baby blankets for Life's Little Treasures. 

Ann Hall has donated 2 beautifully knitted jackets and beanies sets.

Sandra McLay and Lesley Anderson have donated 6 lovely quilt tops and some dabric for backings. 

Glenys Pearson has been busy knitting and has donated a beautiful baby blanket,  5 pair of premmie booties and 9 beautifully knitted premmie jackets, all for Life's Little Treasures. 

Kaye Hardman's lovely mother, Billie, has been busy knitting and has donated  another 3 cute knitted teddies.
