Before I Slept.
As I'm working more nights than usual this week I really wanted to get a few more tops quilted so I've quilted four but only bound these two. These were both donated tops and it's great to get them ready for donation. It's also been a very good way to clear out some of my cupboards. Now instead of stacks of fabric and tops, I have stacks of finished quilts waiting for delivery.
We're still working on downsizing and so far have sold an old car that was in high demand, a sewing cabinet, four wheel drive drawers, 5 bikes, 5 mattresses and lots of books and magazines. We haven't put the house up for sale yet as our youngest DD's wedding is in 3 weeks but it's good to start to clear out cupboards. I plan on quilting tomorrow and then back working more nights over the weekend.
Thanks to all of your generous donations of tops and blocks, there will be a lot of happy people receiving quilts soon.
Hugs, Jan Mac

Weekend Stitching.
Weekends are usually busy with family commitments but I did find some time for two more finishes. The first set of QAYG blocks were made by Marijke, from The Netherlands, and they went together very quickly.
While I was clearing some fabric out of my stash cupboard I found some fabric for more joining strips so, rather than putting it back in the cupboard I thought I'd just use it up. I still have a pile of QAYG blocks to use but it is diminishing, while the pile of finished quilts is growing nicely. I hope to have some more to share in between working more nights but time will tell.
Once again, very grateful thanks for all of your donations for these quilt projects.

What Fabulous Friends.
I feel so blessed to have such generous blogger friends and supporters who help so much with my quilt projects for the needy. It means that we are able to bless so many people in need and share our love of making quilts.
Maria W. from WA has once again been very busy and sent these three beautiful finished quilts for me to donate. They will be much loved by their new owners and bring them comfort. There is not much better than being able to wrap yourself in a warm quilt, especially in our current cold weather.
Maria also sent a large number of blocks which I can add to others here and get some more finishes. A very grateful thanks to Maria, and all of my blog supporters for your generous donations. We are making a difference, one quilt at a time.

Six For Wednesday.
Today was a great day for finishes as I quilted one donated top as well as binding five more that I quilted earlier last week. The first five will be going to domestic violence survivors and the last one is a top from my Melbourne quilting group and will go to kids in foster care.
The biggest job this week was finding bindings and backings to match the donated tops. Luckily I found suitable fabric in my Magic Cupboard which holds my fabric stash.
I'm working nights again tomorrow but hope to get some more finishes first.
Hugs, Jan Mac

Too Much Work and Not Enough Quilting.
I've had another very big week of working nights where work and lots of sleep were all that happened. Or mostly. Today was a day to finish putting together two more quilts from donated QAYG blocks and the pile of quilts continues to grow for donation. I also bound two more quilts to finish off two more donated tops and I have another four or five left to bind, so I hope to get them done in the next few days. I still have a pile of QAYG blocks to put together so I'll be busy in the coming weeks.
Many thanks for all your generous help with these quilt projects for the needy.

A Very Special Delivery.
I received a very large parcel stuffed with these three beautiful quilts. Ann G. from NSW has made and donated these three fabulous quilts and they are also beautifully quilted. They have also given me some good ideas to use up more of my scraps.
The pile of quilts for those affected by domestic violence, is growing and I'm very grateful for all of your support with these quilt projects. I've also been busy quilting more tops and will have more to share soon.
Thanks again Ann for your wonderful donation to the needy. They will be very much appreciated.

What A Week That Was.
Between working on DD's wedding and honeymoon plans and working nights, the week just disappeared. Driving up and down to Melbourne as well has worn me out so I missed my quilting meeting today so I could catch up on sleep.
I was more productive this afternoon with a large bonfire of old chairs, old suitcases and lots of cardboard boxes, as well as garden clippings. I'm a bit weary now but it's good to see some progress with clearing out the old.
I did get one donated top quilted and it was constructed from narrow and short strings which combined to make a fabulous, colorful quilt for someone. I also received another large parcel from Stephanie D., of Perth. She included the 18 QAYG blocks which wouldn't fit into the last large parcel she sent, as well she cut and sent another six sets of joining strips for more QAYG quilts. I gave another big week of working nights this week but hope to get some more quilts finished as well.
Many thanks for all your help with these quilt projects for the needy. I have another 3 quilts to drop off to the homeless teens this week and the pile of quilts for those affected by domestic violence continues to grow for another delivery.
