Time For A Break.

I had a lovely 3 days of retreat with some very special friends and I also managed to almost get rid of my nuisance cough after the flu. It was so wonderful to have some time away at a beautiful retreat at Mainly Sewing at Main Ridge in Victoria. 

It's a fabulous venue with plenty of room for us to spread out with our various projects and share some much needed time to work on UFOs and new projects. 

I took lots of donated tops to quilt and the first quilt top was donated by Jean O'Connor who was busy sewing during Covid lockdowns. 

This next cute I Spy top was donated by Lesley Lowe and the Kyabram quilters. 

Jean O'Connor donated the next 2 quilt tops as well and Mary Anne Rooney and Bendigo friends donated backings, batting and bindings for them.

Today we delivered 20 more beautiful quilts to Eastern Palliative Care and it was lovely to hear how much your beautiful quilts mean to their clients and families. 

We have now donated 530 quilts so far this year and it's only been possible to support so many people in need of comfort die to your generous donations and support everyone.

Not Done Yet.

This flu has taken its toll and I thought that I was over the worst earlier this week and then the sore throat and cough worsened and fatigue set in as I spent more time coughing than sleeping. What a nuisance! I have a retreat with quilting friends organised for the next 4 days but don't have the energy to sew, let along pack my bags, so I  might just have to continue resting at home. Reading and knitting are happening in between nanna naps.

    Cathy Bruton and the Inverloch Chatty Crafters have donated a bag of gently used shoes for children, 29 drawstring bags,  8 pairs of hand made pyjamas made from donated fabric, 8 knitted premmie jackets,  19 Santa Sacks,  and a soap pouches.

Jo Scorey donated 2 beautifully knitted baby blankets,  5 beanies, 4 knitted baby jackets, 2 pair of knitted booties and a lovely quilt. 

Pat Biggs and the Patchwork Collections Yarra Valley Quilters have donated a large number of quilts and these beautiful  quilts are the first 15 that I have photographed.

So many people are going to love receiving these beautiful quilts.

Last Week's Arrivals.

I'm running a bit late in acknowledging donfrom last week as I have the flu as well as other family commitments but hope to catch up soon. There have been lots of wonderful donations arriving including these 3 beautifully made quilts from Norma Aitken,  Cheryl Lowe and Waverley Patchworkers. 

Norma Aitken also donated a beautiful crocheted blanket and a knitted premmie jacket. 

Cheryl Bentley donated a lovely quilt in pinks and greens.

Elli Henry and the Goldfields Quilters have very generously donated the next 6 beautiful quilts. 

Trish Copeland from NSW donated 2 beautiful quilt tops with backings and bindings.

Joy Walton donated 14 beautifully knitted beanies, 1 knitted baby jacket, a bag of baby yarn, a UFO braid and fabric as well as a very generous donation of $100 to help pay for costs of batting etc. I love the striped beanies.

                    

Kathie Williamson donated 2 knitted scarves, 9 baby wraps, soaps, and a large amount of new undies and clothes for children. 

Annette Pascoe donated 3 beautiful quilts,  3 Santa Sacks,9 drawstring bags,  4 soap pouches with soap, 3 knitted beanies  and a beautifully crocheted baby blanket.

Nellie Todd, Annette 's lovely mother, has also been busy knitting and donated 6 toddler jackets, 2 baby jackets with beanies, 12 knitted kid's beanies, 2 adult beanies and a cute pair of long socks for a baby.

So many generous people who are helping to make life a little better for people in need.

Hilary Thornton from NSW has sent another parcel containing 2 lovely quilt tops with binding, 3 Santa Sacks,  9 drawstring bags,  a knitted beanie and 4 lovely knitted head warmers.

Sharon Siacci from Beyond Meander Quilting has donated another 4 beautiful quilts. 

Fiona Lazenby has donated a beautifully knitted vest for a child as well as a lovely quilt top that she put together from donated blocks.
