Comings and Goings

There's been a lot happening,  especially since we've announced that we running a quilt drive for the Ukrainian refugees.  We received an anonymous donation of 9 beautifully knitted jumpers for toddlers.
We visited Life's Little Treasures yesterday and delivered 15 quilts as well as numerous other items ( listed on our FB group page). They are still in need of small knitted teddies and drawstring bags for book bags.
Dot Ray sent 5 beautiful quilts, including the quilt at the bottom of this post.


I finished  quilting 9 more donated tops including this one below from Dolores Sedore from Canada.
Another quilt made from donated lovely QAYG blocks. 
This lovely quilt top was made by Sue Atkinson and it's  much brighter in reality. 

Elaine Powell from Qld donated this cute top in flannelette. 
Lesley Lowe and the Kyabram quilters donated the next pretty top. 
Sue Ross donated this cute top in bright colours.
Marg Coulthard donated this very cute top with appliqued monster shapes.
Lesley Lowe and the Kyabram quilters donated the next 2 beautiful quilt tops as well.


 Today I  visited Backpacks 4 Vic Kids and delivered 50 quilts as well as teddy bears, blankets and hand knits and you can see the list on our FB group page. Yesterday I also visited 2 Ukrainian families and delivered 6 quilts for them to welcome them to Australia.  They were very happy with them and it was lovely meeting them.

We delivered 71 quilts in the past 2 days and we've donated 236 so far this year.

More Arrivals.

There's been lots of lovely donations arriving in the past few days and Gaye Kent from Gippsland (Vic) donated 5 lovely quilts. 



Kerry Shelberg from NSW donated 2 beautiful quilts. 

Hilary Thornton from NSW sent a large parcel containing 36 drawstring bags,  5 knitted beanies,  a pair of knitted mittens and some fabric. 
Dru Ketchion and her quilting friends,  the Stitch'n Sistas,  have donated 20 beautiful quilts which will bring comfort to people in need and Dru very kindly delivered Gaye Kent's quilts as well.



















Marie Lee and the Victorian Quilter's Association donated 78 beautiful QAYG blocks to make more lovely quilts. 
There was also an anonymous donation of 9 beautifully knitted baby jackets.

Many Thanks For Your Generous Donations.

Margo Barber from Tasmania is a long-term supporter of Oz Comfort Quilts and she has sent another 2 beautiful quilts,  2 beautifully crocheted blankets,  4 knitted beanies and 5 pair of  wrist warmers.  She also very generously sent another $100 Spotlight gift card to help with expenses.

Judy Cooke has donated 2 more beautiful quilts as well as a lovely knitted baby's blanket for donation to Life's Little Treasures. 


Cathy Bruton and the Inverloch Chatty Crafters have been busy sewing and donated 10 Santa Sacks,  12 drawstring bags for Life's Little Treasures,  1 pair of pyjamas,  2 premmie hats, 1 premmie jacket and 1 soap pouch. They also made lots more beautiful clothing from Ambulance Victoria uniforms. 
Nicky Tepper donated 3 beautiful quilts. 


Bendigo and District Quilters donated 57 quilts for our Ukrainian quilt drive and these are the first ones that I have unpacked. Ruth Turner, Jane Leahy and Mary Anne Rooney arranged delivery with a friend who was returning in a motor home to her home near me. A great collaboration to deliver so many quilts as well as 12 blankets from Michelle Truscott,  the 3 quilts from Nicky Tepper, 3 quilts and a minky blanket from Mary Anne. 



A beautifully crocheted blanket was also donated with the quilts. 






















So many generous people have donated in support of our quilt drive for the newly arriving Ukrainians to welcome them to Australia and we are very grateful for their support.
