More Warm Hugs Arrive.

 I think of every quilt as a warm hug which we are privileged to pass on to those in need of comfort. More fabulous quilts have arrived and Susan Iacuone made the first beautiful QAYG quilt as well as delivering another 14 quilts from Bendigo and District Quilters.

 Margaret Fleming called in with 9 lovely tops of varying sizes and designs as well as several extra blocks to match some I have on hand.

 I also unpacked the last box from Devon Patchworkers and Quilters from Devonport,  Tasmania, and there were 5 lovely large and cuddly crocheted blankets which will really be welcome as it's very cold in the highlands now.

I hope to finish distribution of quilts in the Corryong area in the first week of July and then concentrate on East Gippsland.  It will be great to be able to take the quilts out of storage and start distribution again and we will need another 131 quilts for primary school children and quilts for 170 households which were significantly affdcted by the fires in that area. I shoukd have a final number of what is needed very soon. Many thanks for your support everyone.

Big Catch Up With Donations.

 Nancy Lashbrook from Coleambally NSW, donated the first 4 beautiful quilts which will be so welcomed by the people affected by the bushfires.  Coleambally quilters have been long term supporters of Oz Comfort Quilts and our bushfire quilt drives and are very much appreciated.

 Marie Errington from Qld sent this beautiful pastel floral quilt in blue.

 Vikki Hope and her lovely Mum, Lauris, donated the following 7 tops, with backing and binding and a large piece of white fabric. They had also previously donated a roll of batting and their support is really appreciated.

 This lovely retro top was one of Vikki's UFOs and it is such a happy top that I know it will be a much loved quilt. Thanks for finishing it off Vikki.

 Wendy Byrne (Vic) a nursing colleague has donated a large box of fabric and sets of blocks which will make lovely quilts.

 Marion Allen (Vic) donated 42 lovely QAYG blocks as well as several extra 4 patch blocks and a large piece of fabric for backing.

 Margaret Humphrey (Vic) another lovely long term supporter of Oz Comfort Quilts has donated many items again for the bushfire quilt drive as well as knitted baby garments for the Peter Mac auxiliary shop. This lovely pastel lemon quilt was donated by Margaret.

 A lovely top for the bushfire quilt drive and a Christmas runner to be finished for the Peter Mac auxiliary shop,  both made by Margaret.

 Margaret made 4 more lovely quilt tops and included backing.

 She also included lovely fabric.

 Some orphan blocks and crocheted squares for blankets.

 Margaret also is a skilled and prolific knitter who donated all of these knitted baby garments for the Peter Mac auxiliary shop and some for st Kilda Mums, an organization who supports disadvantaged young mums and babies.

 These lovely knitted bags will also sell in the Peter Mac auxiliary shop.

Luisa Gubiani (Vic) also very generously donated several sets of binding. Plans are developing to finish distribution of quilts in the Corryong area in the next few weeks so all of these wonderful donations will soon be comforting those in need.
   If you have donated blocks or a top and haven't seen it finished yet please don't worry they will all be finished and donated.  Distributing the quilts is a fairly slow process as people need to be ready to receive them and have suitable storage for them but soon we are going to be distributing most of those quilts which are currently in storage and then will need to build up our pile of quilts again.

Quilts Donated by the Devon Patchworkers and Quilters.

 The Devon Patchworkers and Quilters are based in Devonport,  Tasmania, and they donated 4 large boxes containing 11 fabulous quilts and several crocheted blankets. Prue made the first beautiful quilt and I love this design.

 Beryl made this fabulous quilt as well as the lovely one below.

 This green quilt is nade from a Missouri Star pattern called Sticks and Stones.

 Beryl and Wendy made this pretty cat quilt and it's a clever use of a cushion sized panel for the centre.

I still have a box of crocheted blankets to unpack  but this is one of them and there must be 5 or 6, all beautifully made.

This lovely quilt was made by Edith and uses the same Missouri Star pattern.
