More Donations Arrive.

Carol Richardson from ACT has sent these 3 fabulous quilts and they are much brighter than shown in the photos are light was fading by the time DH was ready to hold them for me. Thank you so much Carol for these beautiful quilts.

Fiona Lazenby from Vic. very kindly bought printable fabric sheets and printed them out with Oz Comfort Quilts labels, as well as adding fabric borders. This has saved me lots of time and now I onky have to stitch them onto quilts as I finish them or as they arrive as donations.

I also received a roll and a half of batting from Vic Textiles so I can keep busy getting donated tops finished now. I have been busy quilting tops today and will have more to share tomorrow. Many thanks for your support for our bushfire quilt drive .

Finished Oz Comfort Quilts.

I've been busy quilting donated tops and have four more to share as well as a donated child's quilt . The first beautiful was donated by Heather Mahncke from Vic.
This lovely batik top was donated by Jill Dearing from Tasmania and I used one of the beautiful batik pieces donated by Textiles Treasures (ACT) as the backing and binding.
This lovely QAYG quilt was made by blocks donated by Stephanie D in W. A. and she is a long time supporterof our quilt drives.
This lovely child's quilt was donated by Lynne Gourley from Tasmania and will be treasured.
This last quilt was made from an anonymously donated top from some time ago and it's great to have it finished. I also received a very generous donation of $55 AU from Yvonne Hamilton in the US,  via Paypal, to put towards batting costs.
I have 21 quilts finished and ready to donate which is great in just over a week. Keep the donations coming please as the need is great.

UFO Monday -2nd and 3rd Finishes For The Year.

One advantage of running another quilt drive is the inspiration to finish off more UFOs that have been languishing in the cupboard. This first quilt was in 2 pieces when I found it and I think it was donated some time ago. I decided to piece the two sections together and then add borders.  Now it's ready for the Oz Comfort Quilts bushfire appeal.
The second UFO  finish was also donated and it was in 2 pieces as well. Each piece had 4 large sections so I unpicked 2 blocks from one of the pieces and added them to the other section, making one large top. After adding borders and quilting it's now ready for donation for our bushfire appeal.

I 'm very happy to have 3 UFOs out of the cupboards so early in the year and I have my eye on another couple that I can finish soon.
I hope many quioters are able to donate quilts to our bushfire appeal, or a monetary donation to help pay for batting.
Many thanks for your support.

Oz Comfort Quilts Finished.

Four more Oz Comfort Quilts finished and ready for donation. This furst one was a donated top to which I added borders so it would be suitable for an adult.
This was another donated top to which I added borders so it would be larger. It's  a really vibrant red, yellow and blue quilt and the photo doesn't do it justice.
These QAYG blocks were made by Desley Rogers from W.A. Desley is a regular supporter of Oz Comfort Quilts and her blocks are beautiful.
Another donated top with lovely embroidery of butterflies and flowers on the blocks. I have a summer cold which is a nuisance when I have so much I want to do so there's been a few extra naps but I am still getting quilts finished so I'm happy with that.
