Blown Away By Generosity Again.

 Ann G. from NSW has very generously donated quilts to my quilt projects in the past and she has excelled herself this time with 2 more fabulous quilts.  She is a very talented quilter and these 2 large quilts must represent hours of her work as well as the expense of lovely fabric and batting.

 The centre block is broderie perse and it is a medallion quilt with lots of fine piecing.

 Some of the rounds use blocks only 2 inches square, so there is a lot of work in this top.

 It will be treasured by its recipient and will be donated to Peter Mac.

This quilt was also made and quilted by Ann and will be perfect for a male patient at Peter Mac. There's lots of piecing with this large quilt too and they will both ge treasured .
Thank you so much for entrusting these quilts for me to pass onto Peter Mac on your behalf. The  generosity of my blog readers has overwhelmed but inspired me to keep making a difference by making and donating quilts.

UFO Monday - 23rd UFO Finish.

 Finding more UFOs to finish is an ongoing way of life at the moment but I'm welcoming the opportunity to finally finish up lots of stalled projects. This UFO was started a couple of years ago and it was going to be a pattern that I drafted based on an antique quilt in my collection. Since then I have seen quite a few similar quilts so decided it wasn't special enough to warrant another pattern so the project stalled.

 I was using lovely French General fabric in reds, white and beige, and I love the fabric but I had only made a few blocks. AQA, my quilting group, has it's Ruby Anniversary this year and the theme of our exhibition next year is "red and white", so I decided to finish the blocks as a table runner and return the remaining fabric to my stash for a themed quilt for our exhibition.

 The table runner will be donated for sale in the Peter Mac auxiliary shop and will help raise funds for their patient services.

It's great to have another UFO finished and I'm happy that I decided to change it's purpose so that it will be used. I'm also working on some of my larger UFOs and there is progress being made on this 1 inch hexie quilt so I hope to get it finished soon. I  always enjoy my sewing and quilting and I must admit that finishing so many UFOs this year has been even more enjoyable.

Weekly Catch Up.

 Another busy week with family fun but I did get 5 more quilts finished in the past 2 weeks. I love this first one for the beautiful reproduction Civil War fabrics.

 So many lovely blocks in this AQA quilt, made by a member for our Gift Quilt Program. The next 3 quilts are also from AQA and I have quilted them for donation. I love seeing our creative members and how they use a variety of fabrics to make so many lovely Gift Quilts.

 Another QAYG quilt made from donated blocks and this one will go to PeterMac.

 I did finish 3 baby jackets for sale in the Peter Mac auxiliary shop but my plan to make more bags hasn't happened yet. Hopefully there will be more time this week.

I've also been busy working on some more UFOs so I will have more progress  to share tomorrow.

Incredible Generosity.

 The postman has been busy delivering parcels from incredibly generous quilters and they all revealed wonderful goodies. Maria W. from WA sent this fabulous flower quilt for Peter Mac as well as  6 beanies for New Guinea.

 Maria's lovely daughter also contributed again with this lovely cot quilt and cushion cover for Peter Mac.

 Rose P. from Vic made and donated these lovely 6 pouch bags for Peter Mac and they will be ideal for keeping all of those little bits and pieces organized in one place.

 Jo B., from Vic also sent these lovely crocheted squares to be used with those I have made and I am in the process of putting together another crocheted blanket to donate to the homeless.
    Thank you so much for your generous donations of your time and talents, which all help to support various organizations and make life a little easier for those in need.

UFO Monday- 22nd UFO Finish.

I did get this UFO finished and it's my 22nd UFO finish for the year. It's lovely to see so many of my old UFOs being finished and ready to donate and I keep finding more so I need to keep working on them.
  I made this top ages ago and I think it was too narrow so I added borders to the sides. Possibly I intended to add them to thd top and bottom but I couldn't find the same fabric and it was large enough at this size so I have finished it and it's ready to be donated to brighten someone's day at Peter Mac.
Now I need to get some more quilt tops basted and get busy quilting again while this afternoon is free.

Vic Quilters Showcase.

It's been a very busy week with Jake sick and Aidan unsettled with a growth spurt so there's been lots of cuddles and not much quilting. I did finish 3 quilts and 2 baby jackets but haven't had time for photos yet.
  I did manage to spend Saturday at Vic Quilter's Showcase and had a lovely time catching up with quilting friends and seeing lots of fabulous quilts.
  Here are a few thst I enjoyed. I hope to blog more soon.

UFO Monday.

 I haven't finished this UFO yet but it will be done in a day or two. After making the top many years ago it waited for quilting and I have finally been working on it today.

 This top was also found in the same box and it will be finished very soon too. It was donated as a much larger top which wasn't a good size for a donation top so I adjusted the size and now just need to stitch down some of the green stems then quilt and bind it so that should be finished as soon as I complete the stitching and make a backing.

 I have also returned to stitching this donated BOM for my quilt group. Once completed it will be donated too. Below is a photo of the central part of the quilt but I'm planning on altering some of the blocks and not adding an appliqued border as the quilt will be too large for a donation quilt.

 The last 2 photos are repeats of the quilts I shared in yesterday's post so you can fet a better idea of their colours. The sun was out today, although the wind was cold, so we had a long walk and then I managed to fit in some pin basting and quilting while the boys slept.
