More "Quilts in the Barn" Fun with Miss Brenda P.

I thought I'd share some more of the fabulous quilts we saw when the workshop participants shared their beautiful quilts. There were two beautiful Dear Jane quilts hanging to inspire us. Margaret showed her beautiful finished Dear Jane as well as a wonderful Baltimore Album top.

Janene from Yackandandah showed her lovely Dear Jane with a different sashing in reds.
Meredithe Clark showed some of her beautiful quilts, including her Mrs Billings quilt, "Beguiling Billings" which one the First Prize Traditional Professional Two Person in the Vic Quilters Showcase 2012. Karen of Somerset Patchwork shared the prize as she machine quilted it for Meredithe.

This lovely Basket Quilt was made using Meredithe's templates and can be cut from 5" squares. She had also used some lovely hand embroidered blocks of baskets and flowers.

This lovely appliqued quilt block is part of Brenda's new book- the Susanna Culp's 1848 quilt. It is unusual as it uses blues rather than green, and Brenda is now selling the book as well as the pattern. Of course I had to purchase as I love applique and antique quilts.

Linda Collins of Quilts in the Barn also showed us her fabulous half inch hexagons. She is making a reproduction of an antique quilt from the collection of Mary Koval.
Linda has also been working on a tiny tumbler quilt using vintage fabrics.
This is another close-up of the beautiful small quilts Linda has made and which decorate the walls of her studio.
There's a lot to be said for making some small beauties to enjoy as wall art. I hope you enjoyed seeing these lovely quilts as much as I did. Don't forget Linda and her team are holding the 3 days of their quilt show at Quilts in the Barn at Wonga Park, Vic. All proceeds go to Breast Cancer Research and the show starts tomorrow.
I have some more exciting news to share very soon but for now I want to be working on my Dear Jane blocks. Unfortunately I had tooth removed and some dental work done yesterday so I'm not feeling well enough to sew but hope to get back to it very soon.
Hugs, Jan Mac
